Pre Production –
This initial phase ranges from dialing in the song lyrically and melodically to decided on arrangement and basic instrumentation. This phase could be thought of as the floor plan or blue print of the song that we’re about to build together.
Production –
At this point we’ve got the song mapped out. So, now I’ll begin the process of tracking the final instrumentation. This stage can branch into a number of different approaches. You may be an artist who plays an instrument as well as sings…if you’re local or want to travel, we can book in studio tracking days. However, many clients choose the remote approach. If you have some ability to record yourself, we can do a virtual tracking session (think zoom or skype) If you need coaching in that process I’ll guide you through every step along the way. Regardless, of which approach you choose, we can get the professional quality result your song or project requires. I also have a wide range of session musicians in my network to fill in any instrumental elements that your song may need. If you’re just a songwriter and need a singer we have a broad pool of singers to call on. In any case, we will make sure that your song has everything it needs to bring your vision to life.
Post production –
Once all the tracking is complete, we will review the song and discuss any additional elements that it may or may not need. Once that’s done, I will get you a mixed version for your approval. Once you approve the mix. I’ll have a final mastered and deliver the different versions to you according to your needs…instrumental, TV track, stems…no problem.
Strategy –
As an artist, releasing new music is exciting, but it can be overwhelming if you don’t have a plan to market yourself and your music. Having been an artist for sometime myself, I can certainly relate to this and I am happy to help you with that plan as part of the process. There is no one-size fits all to marketing your music and your brand. It can vary from client to the next. It may include consultation on release strategies, platforms, types of content or sync placements, etc. Sometimes it just helps to have someone help you stay on track with the next steps. If a different strategy is needed than what I may be able to offer, I will loop in the right people to guide you throughout the strategy that will work best for you and make sure your music starts to generate the audience and following it deserves.
